A Reflection on March--What's Going on at Bridging Harts?

An Update on Bridging Harts
March is becoming a tumultuous month for a lot of us. March 2020 brought us the global pandemic, with closures, virtual therapy, and uncertainty trailing us for months. Now, in March 2021, the snowstorm of February brought us a burst pipe which proceeded to flood our office, resulting in torn apart carpets, walls missing, and our beloved Bridging Harts building deemed as a Construction Zone until further notice.
If March 2020 taught us how to be creative when it comes to serving the needs of our community, March 2021 is putting our creativity to the test. Humans are resilient, and as a practice, we are stronger as a team. We donned our Thinking Caps, shared ideas and concerns, and you, our clients, have been at the forefront of every thought, every decision we have made. We’ve been able to continue offering virtual therapy, and now have identified a temporary office space so we can begin to see our community in person once more. We are uncertain how long this temporary office will be of need, but as construction progresses at Bridging Harts, we will begin to understand a timeline and be able to offer everyone an ETA on when we can see you back in our cherished space.
As with most things, there is a positive to the events at the office. We’re getting a makeover! Our office is getting a “facelift”! We’re welcoming new flooring (no more carpet!), new rugs, new paint on our new walls, maybe even new sofas and chairs. But no fear, our saving-grace coffee station will be back soon, your favorite pillows and blankets will make their appearance again, and our staff will be there to welcome you and show off our newly decorated space.
As March 2020 taught us, therapy is more than just a place you go. It’s a time set aside to do the work that needs to be done in an space that you can trust. Whether that time is spent in a virtual session, in a rented office, or on hold until the Bridging Harts office is complete, we’re ready to do the work.
We appreciate everyone for their flexibility, concern, and willingness to change. Soon our office will be restored and we cannot wait to serve you there again. Until that day, know that we have options for you.
